As FOOTPRINTS of SUSSEX we organise a programme of local guided walks which take place throughout the year and which are free to join. For a taste of what the walks were like you can view or download the old Summer 2020 programme by clicking here.

We've been closely involved with country walking for over 30 years and we love to share all that knowledge by way of our ILLUSTRATED TALKS about the South Downs.

Footprints began leading walks in Sussex in the 1980's when we led the Y.H.A. 'Great Escape' walks along the South Downs Way. When, sadly, the hostels began to close this led to self guided holidays along the trail - which Footprints have been providing for the past 30 years.

As you might expect, there have been many adventures during these years of walking. Perhaps most exciting were  the Inaugural Walk of The Downs Link; the opening of The Serpent Trail; the creation of the West Sussex Literary Trail; The year-long Walk 2000; the New Lipchis Way; guided tours of Amberley Castle; countless walks published Iin TASTE magazine ; our own book 'Walks for All Ages' and - since 2001 - the Annual South Downs Way Walk .
